About this toolkit
This toolkit is designed to help caregivers and members of the Ontario Caregiver Coalition to participate in advocacy on Family Caregiver Day, this April 5, 2022.
These materials outline what we will be saying on Family Caregiver Day and are being made available for you to use and communicate as well. While we at the Ontario Caregiver Coalition strive to be the voice of caregivers, it is important that decision-makers, policy influencers, and other past, current, and future caregivers hear directly from caregivers too. We can give people all the facts about why they need to act to help caregivers – but your stories bring to life why they need to act now. To that end, our theme this year is “When Caregiving Happens to You”. With the Ontario election in June, we want to encourage people to think about the challenges facing caregivers, and to vote for the party they think will do the most to help them.
